Dear Lord, help me to honor my parents and care for them as they age. May I never use the excuse of giving to you as a way to neglect my responsibilities to them. Give me a heart of generosity and compassion towards my family, and may I always seek to serve them with love and kindness. Amen.

Verse: But you say, ‘ Whoever may tell his father or his mother, “Whatever help you might otherwise have gotten from me is a gift devoted to God,”
Matthew 15:5

This is a Command.

The verse commands the reader to dedicate any help they would have given to their parents to God instead.
