Prayer based on Mark 10:21. Themes: Love, Sacrifice, Wealth
Dear Jesus, as I come before you today, I am reminded of the rich young man who came to you seeking eternal life. I pray that you would look upon me with the same love and compassion that you showed him. Help me to recognize the one thing that I lack and to be willing to let go of anything that hinders me from following you wholeheartedly. Give me the courage to sell whatever I have and to give to the poor, knowing that in doing so, I will have treasure in heaven. Help me to take up my cross and follow you, no matter the cost. Thank you for your love and grace, and for the promise of eternal life with you. In your precious name, I pray. Amen.
Verse: Jesus looking at him loved him, and said to him,“One thing you lack. Go, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me, taking up the cross.”
