Prayer based on Luke 9:48. Themes: Humility, Hospitality, Unity.
Dear Lord, we come before you today with humble hearts, seeking your guidance and wisdom. Help us to receive the little children in your name, just as you have commanded us to do. May we always remember that when we receive them, we are receiving you, and when we receive you, we are receiving the one who sent you.
Lord, we ask that you help us to be humble and to recognize that whoever is least among us will be great in your eyes. May we always strive to serve others and to put their needs before our own.
We pray that you will bless the children in our lives and protect them from harm. May they grow up to be strong and faithful followers of you, and may we be a positive influence in their lives.
Thank you, Lord, for your love and grace. We pray all of this in your holy name. Amen.
Verse: and said to them,“Whoever receives this little child in my name receives me. Whoever receives me receives him who sent me. For whoever is least among you all, this one will be great.”
Luke 9:48
This is a Command: Receive.
Summary: The verse commands the reader to receive a little child in Jesus’ name, which is equivalent to receiving Jesus himself and ultimately receiving God who sent him. It also emphasizes that whoever is least among all will be great.
