Dear Lord, as I come before you today, I claim the promise that you have given us through your word. You have declared that John the Baptist was not just a prophet, but much more than a prophet. I pray that you will help me to see beyond the surface and recognize the greatness that you have placed within me. May I be a vessel of your love and light, shining brightly for all to see. May I be a prophet in my own right, speaking your truth and sharing your love with those around me. Thank you for the promise that you have given us, and I pray that I may live up to the calling that you have placed on my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

This is a Promise. The verse is a statement by Jesus affirming that John the Baptist is a prophet and even more than a prophet. There is no command given to the reader.
