Prayer based on Luke 6:35. Themes: Love, Generosity, Reward
Dear God, help me to love my enemies and do good to them, even when it’s difficult. Teach me to lend without expecting anything in return, just as you have shown kindness to the unthankful and evil. May my actions reflect that I am your child, and may I be rewarded greatly for following your ways. Thank you for your love and grace. Amen.
Verse: But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back; and your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High; for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil.
Luke 6:35
This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to love their enemies, do good, and lend without expecting anything in return. The promise is that the reader will be rewarded greatly and will be considered children of the Most High because God is kind even to those who are unthankful and evil.
