Prayer based on Luke 6:25. Themes: Judgment, Reversal, Suffering.
Dear Lord, I come before you humbly and acknowledge that I have been full and satisfied in many areas of my life. But I also recognize that this satisfaction can lead to complacency and a lack of dependence on you. So I pray that you would help me to hunger for more of you and your righteousness. May I never become so full that I forget my need for you.
And Lord, I confess that there have been times when I have laughed and enjoyed the pleasures of this world without considering the eternal consequences. But I know that true joy and peace can only be found in you. So I claim the promise that if I mourn and weep for my sins, you will comfort me and bring me true joy that lasts forever.
Thank you for your grace and mercy, and for the promise that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness will be filled. May I always seek after you with all my heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Verse: Woe to you, you who are full now, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.
Luke 6:25
This is a Promise. The verse warns that those who are currently satisfied and joyful will eventually experience hunger and mourning.
