Praying from Luke 24:31. Themes: Revelation, Recognition, Transcendence.
Dear Lord,
I pray that you would open my eyes to recognize you in every aspect of my life. May I see you in the beauty of nature, in the kindness of others, and in the challenges that I face. Help me to trust in your promises and to have faith that you are always with me, even when I cannot see you.
I claim the promise that when I recognize you, you will reveal yourself to me. May I have the courage to seek you out and to trust in your guidance. And when I am feeling lost or alone, may I remember that you will never leave me nor forsake me.
Thank you for the gift of your presence in my life. May I always be aware of your love and grace, and may I share that love with others.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Verse: Their eyes were opened and they recognized him; then he vanished out of their sight.
Luke 24:31
This is a Promise. The verse describes the disciples’ experience of recognizing Jesus after his resurrection, but does not contain a command for the reader to follow.
