Dear God, I claim the promise that you will never leave nor forsake me. Help me to always remember to give you glory and honor for all the blessings you have bestowed upon me. May I never be like the nine who did not return to give thanks, but instead be like the one foreigner who recognized your goodness and praised your name. Thank you for your unfailing love and mercy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Luke 17:18
This is a Promise. The verse is a statement made by Jesus about the gratitude of a foreigner who was healed, and how he was the only one who returned to give thanks to God. There is no command given to the reader.
