Prayer based on Luke 11:34. Themes: Light, Darkness, Perception
Dear God,
Thank you for the gift of sight and the ability to see the beauty of your creation. Help me to use my eyes for good and to see the world through a lens of love and compassion. May my eyes be a lamp that shines your light into the world, bringing hope and joy to those around me. Please guard my eyes from evil and darkness, and help me to always choose what is good and right. May my whole body be filled with your light, and may I be a reflection of your goodness and grace. Amen.
Verse: The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore when your eye is good, your whole body is also full of light; but when it is evil, your body also is full of darkness.
Luke 11:34
This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to keep their eye good in order to have a body full of light, and to avoid having an evil eye which results in a body full of darkness.
