Dear Lord, I claim the promise that you have given us in John 6:62, where you said, “Then what if you would see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?” I believe that you have ascended to heaven and are seated at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us. I pray that I may always remember this promise and find comfort in knowing that you are with us always. Thank you for your love and grace. Amen.

This is a Promise. The verse is a continuation of Jesus’ conversation with his disciples about his impending death and resurrection. He is reassuring them that although he will leave them, he will return to his rightful place in heaven. The promise is that they will see him ascend to heaven.
