Dear God, please help me to ask for things with pure motives. May my desires align with your will and may I seek to use any blessings you give me for your glory and the good of others, rather than solely for my own pleasure. Thank you for your love and guidance. Amen.

Verse: You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.
James 4:3

This is a Command. The verse is telling the reader to examine their motives when asking for things, and to not ask for things solely for their own pleasure.
