Praying from Hebrews 12:16 relating to Temptation, Consequences, Inheritance

Dear Lord, we come before you today and ask for your guidance and protection. We pray that you would help us to avoid any form of sexual immorality or profanity in our lives. May we always strive to live a life that is pleasing to you and honor your commandments. We ask that you would help us to resist the temptations of the world and keep our hearts pure and focused on you. Lord, we also pray that we would not be like Esau, who sold his birthright for one meal. May we always value the blessings and gifts that you have given us and never take them for granted. We thank you for your love and grace, and we ask for your continued guidance and strength as we navigate this life. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Verse: lest there be any sexually immoral person or profane person, like Esau, who sold his birthright for one meal.
Hebrews 12:16

This is a Command. The verse is warning the reader to avoid being sexually immoral or profane like Esau, who made a foolish decision to sell his birthright for a single meal. The command is to avoid making similar foolish decisions and to live a life of moral purity.
