Prayer based on Matthew 26:11. Themes: Poverty, Sacrifice, Presence.

Dear Lord, I thank you for the promise that you will always be with me. I claim the truth that even though the poor may always be present, you are the one who truly satisfies and sustains me. Help me to keep my focus on you and to seek your presence above all else. Thank you for your unfailing love and faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Verse: For you always have the poor with you, but you don’t always have me.
Matthew 26:11

This is a Promise. The verse is a statement made by Jesus to his disciples that he will not always be physically present with them, but the poor will always be present in the world.
