Prayer based on Matthew 26:12. Themes: Sacrifice, Love, Redemption.
Dear Lord, I claim the promise that you have prepared me for the purpose you have for my life. Just as the woman poured ointment on your body to prepare you for burial, I pray that you will anoint me with your Holy Spirit to prepare me for the work you have called me to do. May I be a vessel of your love and grace, shining your light in the darkness and bringing hope to those who are lost. Thank you for your faithfulness and for the promise that you will never leave me nor forsake me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Verse: For in pouring this ointment on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial.
This is a Promise. The verse is describing an action that has already taken place and is not giving a command to the reader. It is a statement about the woman’s actions and their significance in preparing Jesus for his burial.
