Prayer based on Acts 8:32. Themes: Sacrifice, Submission, Silence.

Dear Lord, I come before you claiming the promise of your word. As I read in Isaiah 53:7, “He was led as a sheep to the slaughter. As a lamb before his shearer is silent, so he doesn’t open his mouth.” I pray that you would help me to trust in your plan for my life, even when it may seem difficult or painful. Just as Jesus willingly went to the cross for our salvation, I pray that I too would have the courage and faith to follow your will for my life. Help me to be silent before my accusers and to trust in your justice and mercy. Thank you for the promise of your word and for the example of Jesus. In his name I pray, Amen.

Verse: Now the passage of the Scripture which he was reading was this,“He was led as a sheep to the slaughter. As a lamb before his shearer is silent, so he doesn’t open his mouth.
Acts 8:32

This is a Promise. The verse is a prophecy about Jesus’ sacrifice and how he willingly went to his death without protest. It is a promise that Jesus would fulfill this prophecy and be the sacrificial lamb for the sins of humanity.
