Dear God, I thank you for knowing my heart and for testifying about me. I claim the promise that you have given me the Holy Spirit, just like you did to the early believers. I pray that the Holy Spirit will guide me and empower me to live a life that is pleasing to you. May I always be filled with your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Thank you for your faithfulness and for the gift of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Verse: God, who knows the heart, testified about them, giving them the Holy Spirit, just like he did to us.
Acts 15:8
This is a Promise.
The verse is stating that God gave the Holy Spirit to the people being referred to, just as he did to the speaker and their group. It is not giving a command to the reader.
