Prayer based on Acts 13:25. Themes: Humility, Preparation, Messiah’s Coming.
Dear Lord,
As I fulfill my course in this life, I pray that I may always remember the example of John the Baptist. Like him, I am not worthy to untie the sandals of your feet, but I know that you have promised to send one who is greater than I.
I claim this promise today, Lord, and I ask that you would send your Son to guide me on my journey. Help me to follow in his footsteps and to live a life that is pleasing to you.
Thank you for your grace and mercy, and for the promise of salvation that you have given to all who believe in your Son. May I always trust in your love and your promises, and may I never forget the example of John the Baptist, who pointed the way to your Son.
In Jesus’ name, I pray,
Amen.
Verse: As John was fulfilling his course, he said, ‘ What do you suppose that I am? I am not he. But behold, one comes after me, the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to untie.’
Acts 13:25
This is a Promise. The verse is a statement made by John the Baptist about the coming of Jesus, promising that someone greater than him is coming.
