Praying from 2 Corinthians 7:9. Themes: Repentance, Godly sorrow, Restoration.
Dear Lord, I thank you for the promise that you will turn our grief into repentance. I rejoice in the fact that even though we may experience sorrow and pain, it is for our own good. Help us to grieve in a godly way, so that we may not suffer any loss by your grace. May we always turn to you in times of trouble and find comfort in your loving arms. Thank you for your promise to turn our mourning into dancing and for the hope that we have in you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Verse: I now rejoice, not that you were grieved, but that you were grieved to repentance. For you were grieved in a godly way, that you might suffer loss by us in nothing.
2 Corinthians 7:9
This is a Promise. The verse is a statement of rejoicing that the reader has repented in a godly way and will not suffer loss because of it.
