Dear Lord, help me to resist the temptation to boast about my accomplishments or abilities. Instead, let me speak only the truth and let my actions speak for themselves. May I never seek to impress others or inflate my own ego, but rather let my character and integrity shine through. Help me to be humble and to always give credit where it is due. May others see in me only what is true and good, and may I never be a stumbling block to anyone. Amen.
Verse: For if I would desire to boast, I will not be foolish; for I will speak the truth. But I refrain, so that no man may think more of me than that which he sees in me or hears from me.
2 Corinthians 12:6
This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to refrain from boasting so that others may not think more of them than what they see or hear.
