Dear Lord, help us to resist the temptation to compare ourselves to others and to boast about our own accomplishments. Instead, may we humbly recognize that our worth comes from you alone. Give us the wisdom to measure ourselves against your standards and to seek your approval above all else. Help us to understand that true understanding comes from seeking your truth and not from comparing ourselves to others. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Verse: For we are not bold to number or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves. But they themselves, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves with themselves, are without understanding.

This is a Command. The verse commands the reader not to compare themselves with others who commend themselves, as those who do so are without understanding.
