Dear God, please help me to understand the true meaning of love. May I not just give away my possessions or sacrifice my body for others, but may I do so with a heart full of love. Help me to love others as you love me, and may my actions be a reflection of that love. Without love, my efforts are meaningless, so please fill me with your love and guide me in all that I do. Amen.

Verse: If I give away all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don’t have love, it profits me nothing.
1 Corinthians 13:3

This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to have love, as giving away all possessions and even sacrificing oneself is meaningless without it.
