Praying from 1 Corinthians 11:27. Themes: Sin, Communion, Guilt

Dear Lord, as we partake in the bread and cup, we pray that we do so in a manner worthy of your sacrifice. May we approach with reverence and humility, recognizing the significance of your body and blood. Help us to examine ourselves and confess any sins that may hinder our communion with you. May we never take this holy act lightly, but always remember the price you paid for our salvation. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Verse: Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks the Lord’s cup in a way unworthy of the Lord will be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.
1 Corinthians 11:27

This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to eat the bread and drink the cup in a worthy manner, or else they will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
