Praying from 1 John 2:1 relating to Salvation, Forgiveness, Counselor

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the promise that you have given us through your word. You have said that if anyone sins, we have a Counselor with you, Jesus Christ, the righteous. I claim this promise today and ask for your forgiveness for any sins that I have committed. I pray that you would guide me and help me to resist temptation so that I may not sin. And if I do fall short, I pray that you would remind me of this promise and that I would turn to Jesus, our Counselor, for forgiveness and guidance.

Thank you for your love and grace that covers us all. In Jesus’ name, I pray.

Amen.
