Dear God, I pray that you help me to live a life that is pleasing to you. I know that those who are in the flesh cannot please you, so I ask that you help me to walk in the spirit and not in the flesh. Give me the strength to resist temptation and to follow your will for my life. May my thoughts, words, and actions be pleasing to you, and may I bring glory to your name. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Romans 8:8

This is a Command. The verse is telling the reader that those who are living according to their sinful nature cannot please God. Therefore, the command is to live according to the Spirit and not the flesh.
