Prayer based on Psalms 88:18. Themes: Abandonment, Darkness, Friendship
Lord, I come before you today claiming the promise that you will never leave me nor forsake me. I confess that at times I have felt alone and abandoned, and my friends have seemed distant and unresponsive. But I know that your love for me is unfailing and your faithfulness endures forever.
So I pray that you would restore my relationships with those who have become distant, and bring light into the darkness that has surrounded me. Help me to be a faithful friend and a loving companion to those around me, and to always seek your will in all that I do.
Thank you for your promise to never leave me nor forsake me, and for the hope and peace that comes from knowing that you are always with me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

This is a Promise. The verse is expressing the speaker’s feeling of abandonment by their loved ones, rather than giving a command or promise to the reader.
