Praying from Romans 15:3. Themes: Sacrifice, Humility, Redemption.
Dear Lord, I thank you for the example of Christ who did not please himself but instead took on the reproaches of those who reproached you. I claim the promise that these reproaches have fallen on him and not on me. Help me to follow in his footsteps and to put your will above my own desires. May I have the strength and courage to endure any reproaches that come my way, knowing that you are with me always. Thank you for your love and faithfulness. Amen.
Verse: For even Christ didn’t please himself. But, as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me.”
Romans 15:3
This is a Promise. The verse is stating that Christ took on the reproaches of those who reproached God, fulfilling a prophecy.
