Prayer based on Psalms 89:48. Themes: Death, Deliverance, Soul

Dear Lord, I come before you today claiming the promise that you have given us in your word. You have asked us, “What man is he who shall live and not see death, who shall deliver his soul from the power of Sheol?” And I declare today that I am that man, through the power of your grace and mercy.

I thank you for the gift of eternal life that you have given me through your son Jesus Christ. I know that through him, I have the power to overcome death and the grave. I declare that I will live and not see death, and that my soul will be delivered from the power of Sheol.

I trust in your promises, Lord, and I know that you are faithful to fulfill them. I pray that you will continue to strengthen me in my faith and help me to live a life that is pleasing to you. May I always remember that my hope is in you, and that you are the one who holds the keys to life and death.

Thank you for your love and your grace, and for the promise of eternal life that you have given us. I pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. Amen.

This is a Promise. The verse is stating that no man can escape death and the power of Sheol (the underworld).
