Prayer based on Psalms 6:5. Themes: Death, Sheol, Memory

Dear Lord, we come before you today with grateful hearts, thanking you for the gift of life and the opportunity to serve you. We acknowledge that in death, there is no memory of you, and in Sheol, who shall give you thanks? We pray that you would help us to live our lives in a way that honors you and brings glory to your name. May we never forget your goodness and mercy, even in the darkest moments of our lives. We ask that you would give us the strength and courage to follow you faithfully, and that we would always remember to give you thanks and praise for all that you have done for us. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Verse: For in death there is no memory of you. In Sheol, who shall give you thanks?
Psalms 6:5

This is a Command. The verse is a warning to the reader that death is final and there will be no opportunity to give thanks or be remembered after death.
