Prayer based on Psalms 85:5. Themes: Anger, Forgiveness, Generational Consequences.
Dear Lord, we come before you today with heavy hearts, asking for your forgiveness and mercy. We know that we have sinned against you and have fallen short of your glory. But we also know that you are a God of love and compassion, and that your mercy endures forever.
We claim the promise that you will not be angry with us forever, and that you will not draw out your anger to all generations. We trust in your unfailing love and your faithfulness to your promises. We ask that you would forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Help us to turn away from our sinful ways and to follow you with all our hearts. May your Holy Spirit guide us and empower us to live a life that is pleasing to you. We thank you for your grace and your mercy, and we praise you for your faithfulness and your love. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
