Prayer based on Psalms 39:6. Themes: Vanity, Mortality, Uncertainty.

Father God, I claim the promise that You are the only constant in this fleeting life. Help me to remember that every man walks like a shadow and that our busy lives are often in vain. I pray that You would give me the wisdom to focus on what truly matters and not to waste my time on things that will not last. May I be a good steward of the blessings You have given me, knowing that I do not know who shall gather them after me. Thank You for Your faithfulness and for the promise that You will never leave me nor forsake me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Verse: “Surely every man walks like a shadow. Surely they busy themselves in vain. He heaps up, and doesn’t know who shall gather.
Psalms 39:6

This is a Promise. The verse is stating that people’s efforts and possessions are fleeting and ultimately meaningless, as they cannot take them with them after death.
