Prayer based on Proverbs 23:5. Themes: Desire, Temptation, Impermanence

Dear Lord, please help me to focus my eyes on what truly matters and not on things that are fleeting and temporary. Give me the wisdom to discern what is important and the strength to resist the distractions that come my way. Help me to trust in your provision and not to chase after things that will ultimately disappoint. May my heart be fixed on you, and may I soar like an eagle on the wings of your grace. Amen.

Verse: Why do you set your eyes on that which is not? For it certainly sprouts wings like an eagle and flies in the sky.
Proverbs 23:5

This is a Command. The verse is telling the reader not to focus on things that are temporary or fleeting, as they will eventually disappear or change. Instead, the reader should focus on things that are eternal and lasting.
