Prayer based on Proverbs 21:13. Themes: Compassion, Justice, Consequences.
Dear God, please help me to always listen to the cries of the poor and needy. May I never turn a deaf ear to their pleas for help and may I always be willing to lend a helping hand. Please forgive me for the times when I have ignored their cries and turned away from their needs. Help me to be a compassionate and caring person who is always willing to make a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate. Thank you for your love and mercy, and for the opportunity to serve others in your name. Amen.
Verse: Whoever stops his ears at the cry of the poor, he will also cry out, but shall not be heard.
Proverbs 21:13
This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to not ignore the cry of the poor, or else they will cry out but not be heard.
