Dear God, please help me to be a wise son/daughter who listens to my father’s instruction. Give me the humility to accept rebuke and correction when I need it, and the wisdom to learn from it. Help me to resist the temptation to scoff or ignore the advice of those who care for me. May I always seek to grow in knowledge and understanding, and to honor those who have wisdom to share. Thank you for the gift of family and the guidance they provide. Amen.

Verse: A wise son listens to his father’s instruction, but a scoffer doesn’t listen to rebuke.
