Dear Lord, I confess that I have ignored your counsel and have not wanted any of your reproof. Please forgive me for my stubbornness and help me to be open to your guidance and correction. Help me to trust in your wisdom and to follow your ways. May I have a heart that is receptive to your voice and willing to learn from you. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Verse: but you have ignored all my counsel, and wanted none of my reproof;
Proverbs 1:25

This is a Command. The verse is a rebuke to the reader for ignoring God’s counsel and reproof.
