Dear Lord, help me to understand the true meaning of your words, “I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.” May I always strive to show compassion and kindness to others, rather than just going through the motions of religious rituals. Help me to remember that you came to call sinners to repentance, and may I always be willing to turn away from my own sins and seek your forgiveness. Thank you for your endless mercy and grace. Amen.
