Praying from Matthew 5:32 relating to Marriage, Divorce, Adultery.
Dear Lord, I pray that you help me to honor the covenant of marriage that I have made with my spouse. Please guide me to always act with love and respect towards my partner, and to never consider putting them away except for the cause of sexual immorality. Help me to understand the gravity of this decision and the impact it can have on my spouse’s life. I pray that you protect my marriage and keep it strong, and that I never find myself in a situation where I am tempted to break my vows. Thank you for your guidance and love. Amen.
Verse: but I tell you that whoever puts away his wife, except for the cause of sexual immorality, makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries her when she is put away commits adultery.
Matthew 5:32
This is a Command. The verse commands the reader not to divorce their spouse except for the cause of sexual immorality, and warns that divorcing and remarrying would result in committing adultery.
