Prayer based on Luke 16:18. Themes: Marriage, Adultery, Divorce.

Dear Lord,

We come before you with humble hearts, seeking your guidance and wisdom in our relationships. We acknowledge your commandment that everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery. We pray for the strength to honor our marriage vows and to remain faithful to our spouses.

We also ask for your mercy and forgiveness for those who have already committed adultery by marrying someone who is divorced from their spouse. We pray that they may seek your forgiveness and make amends for their actions.

Lord, we ask for your grace to help us navigate the complexities of relationships and to make wise decisions that honor you. May our marriages be a reflection of your love and faithfulness, and may we always seek to honor you in all that we do.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Verse: “Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery. He who marries one who is divorced from a husband commits adultery.
Luke 16:18

This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to not divorce their spouse and marry another, and warns that doing so is committing adultery. It also warns against marrying someone who has been divorced from their spouse.
