Praying from Matthew 4:16 relating to Salvation, Light, Redemption

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you today, claiming the promise of your word that says, “the people who sat in darkness saw a great light; to those who sat in the region and shadow of death, to them light has dawned.” We thank you for the light that has dawned in our lives through your son Jesus Christ.

We pray that this light will continue to shine brightly in our hearts and minds, guiding us on the path of righteousness and leading us closer to you. We ask that you would help us to share this light with others who are still sitting in darkness, so that they too may experience the hope and joy that comes from knowing you.

Thank you for your faithfulness and for the promise of your word. We trust in you and in your unfailing love, and we pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Amen.

This is a Promise. The verse is describing the fulfillment of a prophecy about the coming of Jesus and the light he brings to those in darkness and the shadow of death.
