Dear Lord, forgive us for not believing in your messengers who come to us in the way of righteousness. Help us to have faith and trust in your word. May we learn from the tax collectors and the prostitutes who believed in John’s message and turned their lives around. Please grant us the grace to repent and believe in you, even when we may not fully understand your ways. We ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Verse: For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you didn’t believe him; but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. When you saw it, you didn’t even repent afterward, that you might believe him.
Matthew 21:32

This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to repent in order to believe in John’s message.
