Praying from Matthew 12:44. Themes: Repentance, Cleansing, Restoration.
Dear Lord,
As I come before you today, I claim the promise in Matthew 12:44 that says, “Then he says, ‘I will return into my house from which I came;’ and when he has come back, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.”
I pray that you will return to my heart and my life, and find it empty of all the things that do not please you. I ask that you sweep away any impurities and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I pray that you will put my life in order according to your will and purpose.
Lord, I surrender my heart and my life to you today. I ask that you fill me with your Holy Spirit and guide me in all that I do. May my life be a reflection of your love and grace, and may I bring glory to your name in all that I say and do.
Thank you for your promise to return to us and make us new. I trust in your faithfulness and your love, and I pray that you will continue to work in my life and make me more like you each day.
In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Verse: Then he says, ‘ I will return into my house from which I came;’ and when he has come back, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.
Matthew 12:44
This is a Promise. The verse describes the return of an unclean spirit to a house that has been cleaned and put in order, but finds it empty. The promise is that the unclean spirit will not find a place to dwell in the clean and ordered house.
