Dear Lord,

I claim the promise that the men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, someone greater than Jonah is here.

I pray that I may have the same heart of repentance as the people of Nineveh. May I turn away from my sins and seek your forgiveness with a contrite heart.

I also pray that I may have the wisdom to recognize and follow the teachings of someone greater than Jonah, who is none other than Jesus Christ. May I listen to His words and obey His commands, so that I may live a life that is pleasing to you.

Thank you for your promise of salvation and forgiveness. May I always remember that you are a God of mercy and grace, and that you are always ready to forgive those who come to you with a repentant heart.

In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

This is a Promise. The verse states that the men of Nineveh will condemn the current generation because they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and someone greater than Jonah is present. There is no command given to the reader in this verse.
