Prayer based on Mark 9:37. Themes: Childlike faith, Hospitality, Humility
Dear Lord, thank you for reminding us that when we receive a little child in your name, we are receiving you. Help us to always welcome children with open arms and show them your love. May we never forget that when we receive you, we are also receiving the one who sent you. Guide us to be a shining example of your love and grace to all those around us, especially the little ones. In your holy name we pray, Amen.
Verse: “Whoever receives one such little child in my name receives me; and whoever receives me, doesn’t receive me, but him who sent me.”
Mark 9:37
This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to receive little children in the name of Jesus, which is equivalent to receiving Jesus himself. By doing so, the reader receives the one who sent Jesus.
