Dear God, help me to understand that holding onto my life and my own desires will only lead to loss. Instead, may I have the courage to let go of my own will and surrender to yours. May I be willing to lose my life for the sake of your kingdom and the Good News. Help me to trust that in doing so, I will ultimately gain eternal life. Amen.

Verse: For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; and whoever will lose his life for my sake and the sake of the Good News will save it.
