Dear God, help me to understand that holding onto my life and my own desires will only lead to loss. Instead, may I have the courage to let go of my own will and desires, and surrender my life to you. Help me to live for your sake, even if it means sacrificing my own comfort and security. I trust that in losing my life for your sake, I will ultimately find true and eternal life. Amen.

Verse: For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake will save it.
Luke 9:24
