Prayer based on Mark 2:27. Themes: Sabbath, Man, Creation

Dear Lord, we thank you for the gift of the Sabbath. Help us to remember that it was made for us, to provide rest and renewal for our bodies and souls. May we never become slaves to the Sabbath, but instead use it as a tool to draw closer to you and to find peace in your presence. Guide us in how we observe this holy day, and may it always be a time of joy and worship. Amen.

Verse: He said to them,“The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.
Mark 2:27

This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to remember that the Sabbath was made for their benefit, not the other way around.
