Prayer based on Mark 13:14. Themes: warning, prophecy, escape

Dear Lord,

As we read these words from the book of Mark, we are reminded of the warning you gave to your disciples about the abomination of desolation. We pray that you would give us discernment and understanding as we seek to interpret these words.

Help us to recognize the signs of the times and to be prepared for whatever may come. Give us the courage to flee to the mountains if necessary, and to trust in your protection and provision.

We pray for those who are currently facing persecution and hardship in Judea and other parts of the world. May they find refuge and safety in you, and may your peace and comfort be with them always.

In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Verse: “But when you see the abomination of desolation,spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not” (let the reader understand),“then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains,
Mark 13:14

This is a Command. The reader is instructed to flee to the mountains when they see the abomination of desolation standing where it ought not.
