Prayer based on Mark 12:19. Themes: Redemption, Marriage, Family.

Dear Lord, we come before you today with humble hearts, seeking your guidance and wisdom. As we reflect on the words of Moses, we are reminded of the importance of family and the responsibility we have to care for one another. We ask that you help us to be faithful in fulfilling this duty, especially in times of loss and grief. Give us the strength and courage to support our loved ones, to be there for them in their time of need, and to raise up offspring for our brothers and sisters who have passed on. May we always be mindful of the blessings of family and the importance of carrying on their legacy. We pray this in your holy name, Amen.

Verse: “Teacher, Moses wrote to us, ‘ If a man’s brother dies and leaves a wife behind him, and leaves no children, that his brother should take his wife and raise up offspring for his brother.’
Mark 12:19

This is a Command. The verse instructs the reader to follow the law of levirate marriage, which requires a man to marry his deceased brother’s wife if he has no children in order to continue his brother’s lineage.
