Prayer based on Luke 5:8. Themes: Sinfulness, Humility, Repentance.
Dear Lord Jesus, like Simon Peter, I too am a sinful person. When I see your goodness and holiness, I am humbled and ashamed of my own shortcomings. Please forgive me for my sins and help me to turn away from them. I pray that you will draw me closer to you and help me to follow you with all my heart. Thank you for your love and mercy, and for the grace that you offer to all who come to you in repentance. In your holy name, I pray. Amen.
Verse: But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord.”

This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to repent and acknowledge their sinfulness before the Lord.
