Prayer based on Luke 17:31. Themes: Urgency, Priorities, Preparedness.
Dear Lord, as I read these words, I am reminded of the importance of being ready for your return. Help me to prioritize my life in a way that reflects my faith in you. May I not be so attached to my possessions that I am unwilling to let them go for the sake of your kingdom. Give me the strength to leave behind anything that may hinder my relationship with you. Help me to keep my eyes fixed on you and not turn back to the things of this world. Thank you for your grace and mercy, and for the promise of your return. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Verse: In that day, he who will be on the housetop and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away. Let him who is in the field likewise not turn back.
Luke 17:31
This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to not go back to their house or field to retrieve their belongings during a time of crisis.
