Dear Lord, I claim the promise that when I hear your voice, my heart will leap for joy just as John the Baptist leaped in Elizabeth’s womb at the sound of Mary’s greeting. May my spirit be attuned to your voice and may I always find joy in your presence. Thank you for the gift of your word and the assurance that you are always with me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

This is a Promise. The verse is describing the reaction of Elizabeth’s unborn child, John the Baptist, to the sound of Mary’s voice. It is not giving a command to the reader.
